Meet Robin
Owner, Marigold Counseling
I am a lifelong resident of Jacksonville, and I love my city. After completing my undergraduate work at University of Florida (Go Gators!), I attained my Master’s in Mental Health Counseling at UNF in 2012. I spent the following years working within the child welfare system, specifically with families going through the adoption process. During this time, I began to see the need many adults have to work through their own “stuff” before they can truly help their children.
This truth hit home to me and my girls three years ago when my husband suddenly passed away. Grieving and parenting at the same time has been the hardest season I have ever walked through. I had the overwhelming desire to fix everything.
But it was not until I allowed myself to work through my own grief that I could then help my girls work through theirs. This is the catalyst that compelled me to begin Marigold Counseling.
When I’m not working with others, you can usually find me crocheting, exercising, or playing with my girls.
About Marigold Counseling:
I have spent the majority of my therapeutic career working with children in the child welfare system whose lives had been affected by trauma. However, while working with children can be rewarding, it soon became apparent that most children could not continue their healing journey until their caregivers did some work as well.
We as adults carry around so many wounds which we unknowingly pass on to those around us, even those we love the most. Because of these experiences, I have a new passion to work with women so they can become the best version of themselves for themselves and for their people.

Attachment-Based Therapy: This approach delves into your specific attachment style and how this informs the way you view yourself, your relationships and the world around you. Time will be spent reflecting on your childhood attachment history and connecting that to your current relationship strategies.
Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT): CBT considers how your thought patterns are related to your behaviors. Time will be spent recognizing unhelpful thoughts that are creating issues in your life and then reframing those thoughts.
Eco Therapy: This approach utilizes nature and all that it has to offer in the therapeutic process. Research demonstrates that spending time in nature reduces stress, increases mindfulness, and improves your overall mood. Eco therapy in practice could look like walking or sitting outside during a session or participating in other nature-based activities.
Strengths-Based Therapy: Strengths-based therapy leans into building up your current strengths and resources and discovering new ways to develop your resilience through those strengths.
Faith-based Therapy: If requested, we can employ a biblical lens during our session. This may look like starting sessions with prayer or incorporating Scripture to support mental health strategies. God’s Word holds the truth we so desperately need for every situation in life.
